Welcome
I write books about girls and power struggles and magic. They’re set in isolated mountain towns, haunted hotels, weird vacation spots, and forgotten places. They explore history and its ramifications on the present, the patriarchy, divisions among people who have to get along for the good of the whole, local folklore and historical magic, and the coming of age of girls who have to find their place or carve out one for themselves.
About Mercy
Mercy Blackburn grew up in the Arkansas Ozarks. She's a librarian at a small liberal arts college, so along with being a writer her search history is a travesty. She is a 2019 Pitch Wars mentee and her short fiction has been starred in Kirkus Reviews.
When not writing, her hobbies include digging around in her garden, riding horses in perfect circles, and obsessing over random events in history.
Mercy is represented by Quressa Robinson of Folio Literary Management.
